7 reasons why we love online learning!
It’s that time of year again, where big red hearts and bunches of roses are starting to appear everywhere you go. Yes, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! But this year why not try some self-care for a change? There are many things to love about online learning, from improving your career aspirations to meeting new friends. Here are our top 7 reasons why you should fall in love with online learning:
1. Location, location, location
One of the great things about online learning is that you can do it anywhere you like, at home, abroad, on a beach….as long as you have a computer with a strong internet connection there is nothing stopping you studying anywhere you choose.
2. Career progression
Our online courses are a great way of improving your career prospects by making you more employable. Companies look for prospective employees who are motivated to pursue opportunities for self-improvement. Our short courses have recently been awarded continuing personal development (CPD) accreditation so you can even use them towards your CPD points.
Our courses are designed to fit around your life and commitments. Whether you are a young student, parent, working full time, part time or looking to change career, we have something to suit everyone. We have even got tips on how to study when you are pregnant! We have short courses that only take 8 months to complete as well as longer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Our courses will take around 10-15 hours per week so they can easily fit around your other commitments. You can find your perfect course here.
4. No exams!
All our courses are assignment based so there are no end of year exams to worry about. Our structured distance learning courses allow you to work towards your degree in a unique virtual learning environment and still have access to all the support and facilities that you would expect to receive on campus. Our courses are payable by instalments making them affordable. A simple monthly payment plan will enable you to spread the cost of your tuition over the duration of your studies. We also offer discounts and scholarships; a 10% discount is also available if you pay the full payment up front for your course or per year. Depending on where you live and the course level you wish to study, you may be eligible for a student loan. You can check out your student finance options here. There are no extra charges for using our virtual learning environment or accessing the resources through it. Also, all your core textbooks are provided free of charge in the form of an eBook and additional reading can be accessed through our online libraries. You shouldn’t need to buy any extra software for your computer, if you have the standard Microsoft applications like Word and Excel, or even free OpenOffice software, you will be able to complete all of your work.
6. Meeting people from all over the world
We have international students studying with us from all over the world. Our online platform enables both students and tutors to actively take part in real-time conversations, listen to and view recorded lectures and take part in live question and answer sessions. So whatever course you join it’s likely that you get to know fellow students not only in the UK but from different areas of the globe and different walks of life as well. We also have a great support team in place to ensure you succeed on your course. As well as regular contact with your peers and tutors, all students have a personal Student Support Adviser who is their first point of contact and mentor. The role of the Student Support Adviser is to support students during the course and provide guidance. Find out more about how we support our students here and meet our experienced tutors here.
