How does it feel to be attending your graduation?
Oh it’s great, one of the advantages is that you get a degree like you studied in-house. So it’s a great feeling, my family is here, and my son is here! He’s only two years but then yeah he’s going to remember this one. I feel great, for sure.
What are the benefits of studying online?
Well it was definitely enriching. I was in a semi-managerial position so I definitely knew that I needed more guidance. It was very technical, it was what upcoming managers should look into, I’d definitely recommend it. Now I do have a manager position and it’s definitely helpful. The MBA gives you the initial groundwork that is needed for people management for human resources, day-to-day operations – it was definitely helpful yes.
Why did you choose to study with University of Essex Online?
The flexibility for sure, you can adapt to it, you can choose your hours, all of that comes with flexibility yeah.
How did you find studying with us?
Well yes, I mean I did do some research before I came in, you know like any student. I was enrolling in another university before this and in between I decided that this was a better university in every way; and I had heard very good things about it so that’s how I ended up in Essex.
What was the most enjoyable part of your degree?
Well it was fantastic, there’s not doubt about that. My Student Adviser was Rebekah and she was perfect, she helped me out in everything. Tutors were great, for every assignment, for every module, they were pretty helpful, and they knew how to guide. I did run up into some problems during one of my modules and I reached out to my tutor and he was great.
How are you going to use what you’ve learned in the future?
For now, I continue with my current job. I’m head in the region so as of now that is the plan, to use whatever I could. And I study further, the good thing about Essex is that you still have access to all the forums, all the online material. So as and when you need more information you can always go back and study. And I did do it so yeah.
Do you have any advice for anyone thinking of studying with us?
I would say just go for it. You know, there could be a thousand things which would stop you from not doing it, but there will be just one thing that will bring you to do it. I would say just listen to that one thing and you know just go on.
