University of Essex Online today announces the launch of their BSc (Hons) Psychology, a 100% online and part-time programme validated by University of Essex.
This new undergraduate degree course has been created to appeal to both UK and international students, with modules covering a range of relevant and evidence-based topics. The course will provide students with a fascinating insight into why we behave the way we do, how we interact with others, and how psychologists use empirical study to explore and debate issues such as mental health, educational and child development, leadership and performance at work, and offending behaviour.
Students will acquire a wide range of subject-specific skills as they study areas including advanced cognitive psychology, biological psychology, critical social psychology, qualitative research methods and many more. Those hoping to use this qualification to develop their career will also develop a number of transferable skills including communication, IT skills, numeracy and problem-solving skills, planning and more.
Dr Michael Lewis, Chartered Psychologist and Head of Programme, said: “The launch of our new BSc (Hons) Psychology is an exciting step for University of Essex Online. Psychology is a fascinating discipline and we anticipate that this course will be extremely popular with those wishing to further their career and also for anyone with a personal interest in learning more about human behaviour and interactions. My team and I have worked hard to create an exciting and thought-provoking syllabus for our learners, and we can’t wait to tutor our first class.”
The first intake for the BSc (Hons) Psychology will be in September 2017, with more planned at regular intervals throughout the year.
Students at University of Essex Online study entirely online using a virtual learning platform, receiving high-quality resources and support from experienced tutors. This new online programme allows students around the world to discuss and debate key issues within psychology, discover specialised areas/or applications of psychology and build working and social relationships with classmates.
David Dixon, Academic Director for University of Essex Online said: “The BSc (Hons) Psychology programme is an exciting new addition to the growing suite of undergraduate programmes offered by University of Essex Online. We are looking forward to welcoming new students onto the course.”
Upon completion of their online BSc (Hons) Psychology, graduates will be invited to attend a graduation ceremony at the University of Essex campus in Colchester.
