University of Essex Online introduces new short undergraduate-level qualification
University of Essex Online is excited to announce the introduction of Certificate of Higher Education qualifications. These new courses are equivalent to Level 4 of undergraduate study and can be completed in approximately 16 months.
These Certificates of Higher Education, or CertHEs, have an open entry route, meaning candidates need no prior academic qualifications or work experience to start the course. CertHEs are available in all subjects offered at undergraduate level: business, law, criminology, psychology and healthcare management, as well as several combined honours programmes.
“We’re adding CertHEs to our course offering following demand from students for a more comprehensive, but shorter course,” said Nicola Pittman, Managing Director. “If students are looking for insight into a field, this gives them the opportunity to get a fundamental understanding of the subject without committing to four years of study.”
CertHEs can be can be completed as a stand-alone qualification or used as a stepping stone towards a full undergraduate degree. The courses are currently subject to university approval, but applications are already being taken for their January intake. The full course fee for a CertHE is £6,160, and students have access to the same payment options as for existing UoEO courses, such as student loans, full payment discounts and international scholarships.
