University of Essex Online today announces the launch of a brand-new Master of Education (M.Ed.). This programme is 100% online and part-time and will be validated by the University of Essex.
Working alongside fellow education professionals, students will cover a wide range of exciting and cutting-edge topics including the philosophy of education, the role of research in developing practice, an introduction to educational assessment and much more.
Students can also shape the structure of their own programme by choosing from a range of optional modules covering subjects including learner analytics, content development, management and more. These optional modules allow learners to develop specialised knowledge in an area that is relevant to their interests or future career path.
Created with continuing professional development in mind, the programme’s content is also linked to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
David Dixon, Academic Director for University of Essex Online said: “This Master of Education programme is an exciting addition to the wide portfolio of postgraduate courses now offered by University of Essex Online. The course will offer those working in a teaching role (or an alternative organisation where an organised educational programme is delivered) an opportunity to develop their knowledge and discover new topics while also reflecting on their longer-term professional development.”
The first intake for this programme will be in September 2018, with more planned at regular intervals throughout the following year.
Students at University of Essex Online study entirely online using a virtual learning platform, receiving high-quality resources and support from experienced tutors. This allows students around the world to discuss and debate key issues within their disciplines, discover specialised areas/or applications of theories and build working and social relationships with classmates.
Upon completion of their online Master of Education (M.Ed.), graduates will be invited to attend a graduation ceremony at the University of Essex campus in Colchester.
