Businesses can’t run without people, which means they can’t run without good people management. The field of human resources is a far cry from its origins as personnel management, and to succeed in a rapidly changing business world, it is essential for managers to have a good grasp of how the people within them flourish or fail.
Our HR pathway explores the closely related fields of business management and human resource management. You’ll develop your skills working with people through not only the course content, but also in the way the course is structured – with group work, discussion forums, live Q&A sessions and collaboration throughout.
As well as examining the key HR and management topics, you will also have the opportunity to modify the course to your own preferences. We offer optional modules in:
- the key concepts that underlie marketing and how to develop a strategy
- financial accounting and financial decision-making in the short and long term
- micro- and macro-economics and their relevance to managerial decision-making
The final module you will study is the Business and Management Research Report, an in-depth study into your choice of any managerial, human resource or miscellaneous business issue. You will conduct independent research into the topic and your report shall make recommendations on how to manage the issue based on the data and conclusions you draw from it.
