This summer, we celebrated the extraordinary achievements of our latest graduates at the University of Essex’s impressive Colchester campus. Our students finally graduated after all their hard work and marked the special occasion with classmates from across the globe, as well as family and friends.
The new graduates enjoyed a host of celebrations including a formal ceremony, refreshments, group photographs and the chance to meet their online peers.

Alan Jenkins Memorial Award winner
Each year, we’re delighted to award the Alan Jenkins Memorial Award to the student we feel has the most inspirational study experience story. This year, the award was presented by Managing Director, Nicola Pittman, and awarded to deserving winner Hadi Althib. Congratulations!
Virtual graduation celebrations
Many international graduates are unable to join us for the in-person ceremony. That’s why, since 2020, we’ve held an ‘Online Graduation Celebration’ hosted live by our Academic Director, David Dixon, with all eligible graduates invited to be part of the celebrations. The online ceremony took place at 12:00 BST on Friday 16 August and graduates enjoyed marking their achievements with peers from across the world.
