Already done some degree-level education?
You might be eligible to shorten your course when you study with us.
If you have previously completed study at another institution, you may be able to transfer the credits you gained for those modules onto your University of Essex Online degree course provided the content and learning outcomes are similar.
This is known as Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) and will reduce the time it will take you to complete your University of Essex Online qualification, as well as reducing the full course fee you will be asked to pay.
Ask our Admissions Team about module exemptions for previous study when you submit your application to study with us.
If you want to apply for any module exemptions, you must do so prior to starting your degree course.
Degree top-up courses
If you have previously completed a Higher National Diploma (HND), a Foundation degree or two years of a relevant Bachelors degree then you may be eligible for one of our top-up route courses, taking you to the final level of your undergraduate degree.
We currently offer top-up progression routes to full Bachelors degrees in Business & Management, Business & Marketing and Criminal Justice. Please contact our Admissions Team for further information.
