New course just launched: BSc (Hons) Business and Computing

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our latest undergraduate course, BSc (Hons) Business and Computing. 

As technology continues to evolve, businesses must be prepared to take on new opportunities and the challenges that arise with it. That’s why we’ve launched our 100% online, part-time BSc (Hons) Business and Computing which combines core business studies with essential computing skills.

What will I learn on the BSc (Hons) Business and Computing?

During your studies, you’ll discover key business and computing topics – including Fundamentals of Programming, Business Investigation and Business Strategy. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate key skills such as algorithm development and responsible leadership. These essential skills will help you address the technological challenges businesses face.

At the end of the course, you’ll have gained transferable skills such as problem solving and teamwork skills, preparing you for careers across a variety of sectors.

How does online study work?

Our 100% online, part-time BSc (Hons) Business and Computing allows you to study from the comfort of your own home and from anywhere in the world. You’ll have access to our cutting-edge Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which can be accessed on any device at any time.

The VLE contains all course materials including multimedia lecturecasts, an eLibrary, interactive discussion forums and a portal for you to upload assignments. There are no exams – the course is assessed entirely through assignments.

You’ll also be supported by our friendly Student Support team from day one, as well as receiving academic support from our dedicated module tutors. Throughout each module, your tutors will run seminars or live Q&A sessions with your class to answer any questions and delve further into the course content.

What are the entry requirements?

We want to make education accessible to everyone, whether you come from a traditional or non-traditional background. That’s why we offer two different entry routes, taking into account your prior work experience and relevant qualifications.

For the academic entry route, you must hold three A-levels or equivalent. For the work experience entry route, you must hold GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent, and at least three years’ relevant IT, computer science or business work experience. If English isn’t your first language, IELTS (Academic) 6.0 or equivalent is required.

Where can the course take me?

Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll have gained business and computing skills that are highly valued in the global job market, such as data analytics, cybersecurity and information systems. These will prepare you to enter various industries including management, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship.

You can also further your education with a postgraduate computing course or a postgraduate business degree.

Looking for a shorter course?

Our BSc (Hons) Business and Computing is a four-year course. However, if you’re looking for a shorter course, why not explore our CertHE Business and Computing which has a study duration of just 16 months. This course offers an open entry route – meaning you don’t need any prior academic or work experience to start. What’s more, this qualification can be used as a stepping stone towards a full Bachelors degree in the future.
