We are proud to be celebrating our 15 year anniversary this month. Since April 2007, Kaplan Open Learning has been working in partnership with the University of Essex to deliver high-quality online courses for University of Essex Online.
We now have students studying with us from more than 140 countries worldwide and we’ve transformed the lives and careers of over 5,000 alumni.
Quality education
We offer over 80 industry-led and career-enhancing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide range of subjects, including business, computing, criminology, education, health, law and psychology.
Our courses are delivered through an interactive and collaborative learning environment which utilises state-of-the-art technology. This enables students to study anytime and anywhere in the world to combine their professional development ambitions with their busy work and family life. After completing their studies, students are invited to attend a graduation ceremony at the University of Essex Colchester campus.
Recent triumphs
We consistently achieve high student satisfaction ratings. We achieved excellence for teaching, learning and academic support in the 2023 National Student Survey.
Additionally, we recently won the Best Online Classroom Experience Award at the Global Student Satisfaction Awards (GSSA 2021) delivered by Studyportals in collaboration with the British Council, IELTS and Unibuddy.
Significant milestone
Both the University of Essex and Kaplan Open Learning are proud that the University of Essex Online partnership has reached its anniversary milestone of 15 years.

Future plans
We plan to launch a range of new programmes over the next five years and we are committed to continuing to enhance our forward-thinking approach to online learning and being at the forefront of the technology that provides the best online study experience.
