The University of Essex Online achieves excellence for teaching, organisation and management, and learning opportunities in the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS).
The results of the 2025 National Student Survey (NSS) conducted by the Office for Students (OfS) have been released with the University of Essex Online achieving superb scores for teaching, organisation and management, and learning opportunities.
Reflecting on this year’s results, David Dixon, Academic Director, commented:
“This year’s NSS survey results continue to reflect our dedication to providing excellent student experiences. Areas such as teaching, assessment and feedback, and organisation and management all performed above the UK Higher Education average with 9 out of 10 students expressing their approval for ‘teaching on my course’.
As the UK’s leader in 100% online higher education courses, we’re proud to offer students a first-class education accessible from anywhere in the world.”
2025 result highlights
- 4 in 5 students said teaching staff supported their learning
- 81% of students believe their feedback was valued by staff
- 9 in 10 students felt their course helped them develop skills for the future
- 89% of students believe their course was well organised
- 91% of respondents believe their course was intellectually stimulating

How does the NSS work?
The National Student Survey is held every year to gain honest student feedback across the UK’s further and higher education sectors. The published results help prospective students make well-informed decisions about which courses to choose and where to study.
