I’m going to continue my studies with a Masters.

Originally from Belgium, I have lived in Thailand since 1997 and now consider it home. I live here with my wonderful wife and young twins, and enjoy playing pool and football, trying my hand at DIY, visiting vintage furniture shops, gardening and searching for the meaning of life (I think I am nearly there!).

I have over two decades’ experience working in education, mostly in teaching, and a decade in management. I have also spent 20 years translating, proofreading and content writing.

I wanted to continue my studies for almost 10 years, mainly to stay up-to-date with skills and knowledge, but also to give myself the best chance of moving up the career ladder. After an in-depth search, I chose the University of Essex Online for its affordability, the helpful responses to my initial queries and the thorough yet smooth admissions process.

With a few months to go before I complete my PG Dip Ed, I can say that I have enjoyed every moment of it. It’s been a challenge but I’ve got through with the help of my tutors and the Student Support team. It sounds like a cliché but I have genuinely learned a whole lot more than I thought I would and I have met some wonderful people! The whole experience has made me decide to continue to a Masters when I have graduated.

I’d say to any non-UK student that’s worried they will feel like an outsider – fear not! Not only are UK-based students incredibly welcoming, but there are also so many other international students.

I decided to study with the University of Essex Online due to the course content, employability prospects, flexible start dates and because alumni had nothing but good things to say.

The MSc Psychology has provided a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, enabling me to critically analyse various psychological phenomena.
