Studying online has allowed me to live in a country of my choice while having access to an amazing learning experience.

I recently completed my first year of the LLB (Hons) Law and I’m loving it. I’m originally from Vancouver, Canada, where I was born and raised, and now live in Israel. I live with my husband and our very cute dog, Buddy. Outside of my LLB, I am also completing a BA in Linguistics at a local university and work part-time at a cybersecurity company. I love to read, write, spend time in nature and travel.

I chose the University of Essex Online as I’ve always wanted to study law. However, they don’t offer law degrees in English in Israel. An additional perk that I hadn’t considered before I enrolled was the flexibility it’s allowed me. I’m not confined to one country; I can visit my family and friends all over the world without missing any lectures or important deadlines. This summer, during the busiest part of my semester, I flew to Canada, the US and South Africa. I had a great trip and was able to learn without any worries.

I’ve been incredibly impressed with my course. The way the material is delivered personally works perfectly for me as the material is offered in many different ways. There are audio, video, text and interactive components. As my schedule is quite packed, it’s been really helpful to study in my own time while also engaging with peers during live lectures.

As I was seeking some way to make myself more employable, I took a project management course online and quite enjoyed the process.

I set out to earn a living instead of studying, but despite this choice I always wanted to fulfil my ambition to have a qualification.
