Over a 20 year career, Alan has built up a wealth of experience in the advertising, marketing and research industries working for a number of advertising agencies in both media planning/buying and account management. Alan has advertised and marketed many well-known and household brands including Green Isle Foods, Hewlett Packard, McDonalds, Zurich Insurance, Aer Lingus, Specsavers and Land Rover. He has also worked for the Irish national broadcaster, RTÉ and the independent station, TV3 in research and analytical roles. Alan graduated from the University of Leicester in 2010 with a MSc. Hons degree in Marketing to add to a number of marketing qualifications. He is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and has lectured at Masters Level with the National College of Ireland. With the University of Essex Online, Alan tutors a number of marketing modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including Fundamentals of Marketing, International Marketing Strategy, Marketing Communications, Consumer Behaviour and Services Marketing. Alan has also worked on the design and development of modules along with mentoring new tutors and thoroughly enjoys his interaction with students as they progress through their studies.

Clare graduated from University of Edinburgh in 1998, with a BSc Honours degree, before completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at Newcastle Business School, leading to Chartered Membership of the CIPD. An interest in personality and self-awareness has shaped her continued development, with practitioner qualifications in coaching, NLP, MBTI and Belbin. Clare has worked primarily within the third sector as a Learning and Development specialist, supporting managers and business leaders to define and plan employee development, including management induction, ILM qualifications and leadership programmes. Since 2013, Clare has been self-employed, working with a range of businesses to develop management skills and leadership effectiveness.
Name: Dr Alex Forsythe
Programme: BSc (Hons) Psychology
Dr Alex Forsythe is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Senior Lecturer and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has recently been appointed as Head of Standards and Certification for the Association of Business psychologists and she is Director of the Masters in Research Methods at the University of Liverpool. Alex supports online students across the world in their academic studies at Undergraduate, Masters and PhD level. Recognizing how critical it is that students have the best support materials to guide their learning, Alex has provided freelance support, designing and writing teaching materials at Undergraduate and Post Graduate level. Areas include individual differences, the history of psychology, the psychology of learning, research methods, leadership, coaching and global talent management. Alex Forsythe has advanced professional standing in several areas relating to human performance, all of which require demonstrable evidence of diagnostic skills, problem-solving capacities, and diverse applied experience. She has special interests in all facets of measurement. From the measurement of human performance to the measurement very small things such as icons, symbols and repeating patterns, to very large things such as buildings. Her work measuring role that small repeating patterns, known as fractals, play in aesthetic experience and the potential the early diagnosis of Dementia has been discussed in the Wall Street Journal, The New Scientist, The Times, Guardian and by the BBC. Alex has received funding from the Kings Funds to evaluate the design of palliative care settings and was awarded a European Fellowship to advise architects involved in the design of healing environments and to build industry-university partnerships.
